    Since arriving to the Greater Binghamton area over 20 years ago, Thomas Westcott has had the opportunity to perform and learn from the area’s top musicians in the areas of jazz, blues and rock.  A bass player since age 14, Tom first started performing with the Oneonta, NY based rock power trio “The Heard”.  Upon his transition to the Binghamton area, he held the bass chair in the Broome Community College and Oneonta State Jazz Bands.  Thomas auditioned and began a long tenure as the bass player for the Binghamton-based contemporary jazz/ fusion band “Cosa Nova”.  During this time period, he also began working with the then “Blues Bandits”, which later became the blues, funk and soul band “Badweather Blues Band”.  He was a part of this group for almost 14 years.  While working with the Badweather Blues band Thomas was also a member of a number of bands including the Panigma Steel Drum Band, Island Hoppers Steel Drum Band, No Compromise, Home Brew, Miles Ahead Jazz Quartet to name a few.  Currently Thomas

   holds the bass chair for his own improvisational jazz/funk outfit featuring former members from the Badweather Blues Band called "Ultra Vibe" and performs regularly with Mike Davis and the Laughing Buddha Episodes.  Over the past few years he has performed with blues guitarists Michael Hill and Murali Coryell, Central New York singer/songwriter Jamie Notarthomas, NYC vocalist Glenda Davenport, jazz guitarists Eric Divito and Dennis Winge, and Grammy nominated guitarist and Gregg Allman musical director Scott Sharrard.
